Our Most Frequently Asked Questions
-
What platforms do you design on?
We exclusively design on the state-of-the-art Squarespace platform. We found that Squarespace merges beautiful responsive design with a low-maintenance interface while providing the level of customization our clients require.
-
How quickly can you start my project?
One you fill out the inquiry form, you will receive a follow up email/call to let you know our earliest availability to begin your project with our current scheduling. Typical booking timeframe is 2-3 weeks out for full site builds.
-
Are there other fees outside of the packages?
Additional fees include:
Annual hosting fees for your domain. Squarespace platform fees: ~$225 per year
You should consider: a Privacy Policy & Terms and Conditions. We can provide references, if needed, cost…$100-$400.
-
Is there anything I need to do or provide before we begin working together?
Yes. In order for me to deliver your site to you by the defined timeline I will need you to provide critical “content” prior to our engagement. Content will include:
Completing a branding strategy questionnaire
Provide high-quality images and/or video
Provide your branding/logo images
Provide any copy surrounding your brand, services and products.
-
Why will this help my business?
The facts are that websites shouldn’t just look pretty. They need to be strategically designed, user-friendly, brand-conscious and turn clicks into clients! And remember, once the site has been properly designed this way, your ROI should come back in multiples, with minimal upkeep!
-
Who are your ideal clients?
Our ideal clients are small business, entrepreneurs/solopreneurs who are mostly service based (with minimum commerce) and passionate about what they do and who have come to realize the potential of how a website can generate a portfolio of long-lasting clients for them.
-
Can I create my own DIY website?
Yes, you absolutely can if you want to invest the extensive time in doing so. I find that clients want to work with us because they appreciate the direction of a smooth and efficient process for getting their site up and running— which allows them to dedicate their time to their core business.
-
Can I maintain my site on my own after the design is complete?
Yes some clients are tech-savvy and prefer to be hands on this way. Upon off-boarding your site, I will walk you through how to do basic updates as an Admin. Then, there are other clients who wish to outsource this cost and pay a small monthly maintenance fee to keep their site regularly maintained, updated and secured. We can provide you with either option.
-
Can you migrate my current site to Squarespace?
Yes, absolutely. We have clients who realized that their existing platforms require recurring maintenance just to keep it working error free. That won’t be an issue with Squarespace. When we do a migration, the cost is the same as a custom build because it is essentially the same amount of work.
-
How is your approach unique from other designers?
We have developed a process that’s flexible and also feels seamless to our clients, so they don’t have to stress over the immense details of getting their project completed. Our goal is to work most efficiently to gather what we need to create content, in the least disruptive way possible to your every day business.
-
Do you develop e-commerce websites?
No. If you are in need of this service we are not your ideal designer. You probably would search for someone who is highly skilled in Shopify.
-
What are copy and copywriting?
Copy simply is your text on your site.
Copywriting as defined on Wikipedia is “is the act or occupation of writing text for the purpose of advertising or other forms of marketing. Copywriting is aimed at selling products or services”. In short, it’s the art of persuasive copy. Clients often desire assistance with copywriting because they are so close to their business that they have can have a difficult time seeing things from the customers point of view.
-
How long does it take to build out a full website?
Most full builds take 2-3 weeks. However, there are instances where complex requirements are needed and that could require an extension to the timeline. We will have a better understanding before going to contract on timeline.
